DOBBIES for Homework!
Read further below

I have placed current homework on this page as PDF files. To view PDF files, you need Reader which is a free program from Adobe which is a standard desktop program. It is likely you already have it on your computer. Updating Adobe Reader is a good idea for those with versions at 6 and lower.

Here is this weeks homework. It involves watching TV and finding out how much time we spend watching ads in an hour. You have a whole week on it so figure out now when you can fit this into your lifestyle. This is due Friday 31st. As per last week, this task pays three dobbies.

Mastering a timestable that you didn't have mastered is worth four dobbies.
Complete mastery of your tables pays out seven dobbies!
Practising your handwriting for two nights at home earns you one dobby. That's a possible four dobbies in one week!
If you have already mastered your tables, assisting others to learn a table will pay two dobbies per person. The other person must agree that you helped them a whole lot.

BOARDGAMES

Wow! Those amazing boardgames that we play in school are now available for download. Play with your parents, your siblings or friends.
Download, print and play!

SNOWTANKS: Its the snowball firing game, where you pilot a Snowtank. Whipe out all five of your opponents people by guessing the angle that they are drawn in relation to your tank cannon. Using your angle measure (a protractor), find out how close you were. A direct hit!

Protractor: Print, cut out and use this to measure your angles.

Snake 100. Each player starts on "Start". The object of the game is to land on 50. In turns, roll a six sided die and move along the snake towards the 50. The number that you land on has a 'buddy' number on the board that when added, total 100. Jump your piece to that buddy number to end your turn. On your next turn, repreat the process and eventualy one of the players will land on 50. It might be you!

A variation to speed the game up: The first to pass 50 wins.

Score sheet for Target Number card game

Target Number is the name of the game. Draw five cards and make two numbers that total as close to 100 as possible.
You might draw a hand of 5, 8, 3, 6, 4. With these cards you could make 36 and 64. What do they make when added together? Your score for the turn is the difference between 100 and your total. It might be 0 or something much higher. Like golf, you want to get a low score in this game. Play a couple of hands and keep adding your scores together as you go. Who will have the lowest score total in the end? Don't let them win!
